12 Week Yoga Challenge - Beginner
Level 1 class with guided flow sequence, restorative yoga poses, meditation of the week and live music relaxation.
This is a gentle, slow-paced and beginner friendly vinyaasa style of yoga, meaning the in between poses there is a flow-through sequence that keeps the thread of the breath open and alive. Participants will learn basic yoga alignment to work with their body according to the rhythm of their breath, training the breath into a steady pace and learning to use the breath for energy and body awareness.
This class will provide a participant the opportunity to strengthen, become more flexible and focussed. Short meditations are used to contemplate an aspect of yoga philosophy and the live music relaxation at the end will provide a deep release.
For this class you will need a yoga mat, strap and blanket. Dress in comfortable layers. Classes are held TUESDAYS at 6:00 PM at Cloud 284 -OR- THURSDAYS at 6:30 PM at Lindenwoods Community Centre.
12 Week Yoga Challenge - Moderate Flow
This is a vinyaasa style of yoga, meaning the in between poses there is a flow-through sequence that keeps the thread of the breath open and alive. Participants will learn to work with their body according to the rhythm of their breath, training the breath into a steady pace and learning to use the breath for energy and body awareness.
These classes will provide a participant the opportunity to strengthen, become more flexible and focussed. Classes are held MONDAYS at 6:30 PM at Cloud 284.
12 Week Yoga Challenge - Power Flow
Level 2 & 3 power flow yoga sequence with meditation of the week and live music relaxation. This faster paced, but combined levels class focuses on a flow through sequence that gets the heart rate up, builds heat, and endurance. This class is not suited for beginners and requires some previous experience. Classes are held TUESDAYS at 8:00 PM at Lindenwoods Community Centre.
12 Week Yoga Challenge - Slow and Restorative
Restorative yoga is good for stress release, healing from stress injuries, rejuvenating the nervous system and getting well-aligned without having to labour for it. Poses are held for longer periods in fully supported poses using props such as blocks, straps and bolsters to carry the weight of the joint as you RELAX. Classes are held THURSDAYS at 8:00 PM at Lindenwoods Community Centre.

The Yoga Lullabies
Beth Martens’ third CD, recorded in 2007 while eight months pregnant with her son, is a naked, back-to-the-roots collection of mantras that carried her through many of her life experiences with their deeply embedded Sanskrit grooves to speak for themselves. Living Knowledge
Beth’s 1999 CD was recorded in India. It is a gathering of cooling mantras, drink-of-water melodies and a kirtan voice that will call you to sing. Call all and responding Yogis. Sanskrit selections from Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads are there interlaced with cosmic poetic reflections.
